Zema Contemporary opened its doors in Barcelona, in 2023. From the beginning, it has aimed to become a prominent space for dynamic contemporary art, embracing diversity across artists’ social, cultural, and generational backgrounds, as well as a broad spectrum of artistic styles and media. Founded with the mission to support both emerging and established artists from East Europe and Middle East, alongside a carefully curated selection of international talents. Under the leadership of Gabriella Uhl and Magda Guruli, the gallery continues to develop its presence and commitment within the contemporary art scene.
In 2025, Zema Contemporary expands by opening a second space in Amsterdam. This new location offers a carefully curated program that features mostly solo exhibitions and interdisciplinary projects, maintaining a focus on contemporary practices characterized by conceptual depth and formal innovation.
