Painter - Visual Artist
Gamze Yalçın (b. 1987, Istanbul) graduated from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Department of Interior Architecture in 2010. Her work has mainly focused on painting and murals since 2014. Her works have been shown in various exhibitions in Turkey, Germany and Spain. Gamze continues her work from her workshop in Berlin.
Gamze Yalçın's works are an ongoing search for landscape and colour. Her artistic practice includes the search for painting and color, and based on the dream/landscape paradox, she shapes unknown/timeless spaces and creates semi-abstract compositions in the form of stories. For Gamze, a work usually begins with discovering the surprises of simple forms, nature or texture that she experiences in her daily life; These experiences, which she interprets with her own thoughts and feelings, later turn into drawings, which are the basis of her practice.
