PETER VAN DONGEN

Peter Van Dongen, born in 1950 in Waalwijk, The Netherlands, is a visual artist whose practice combines photography, design, and installation. After graduating from the Academy of Art and Design St. Joost in Breda in 1975, he began working as a graphic designer and soon started traveling extensively. Since 1977, he has carried his analog camera across the world, capturing still lifes and portraits that reflect a quiet attention to detail and atmosphere.
Over the decades, Van Dongen has developed a diverse body of work that includes installations, conceptual designs, and collaborative projects. Among his notable works are Self-Image (Netherlands), Count-Table (West Germany), Overture of February, Rocket on Space, Italic, and Transparent Pavilion. His projects are marked by a thoughtful engagement with form, space, and visual language, shaped by decades of experience across disciplines and geographies.
