SONGUL EKER
Painter - Visual Artist
Songul Eker is an artist whose practice explores the intersection of thought, history, and mythology. Hailing from the Aegean shores of Turkey, on the soil once walked by the philosophers of Miletus, she was drawn early on to the origins of inquiry and the existential will that shapes human experience.
At the heart of her work lies the concept of “Ethos” the individual’s will, actions, and relationship with the structures of society. By bringing together the symbolic language of mythology and the probing perspective of philosophy, Eker reinterprets the dialogue between the inner self and the collective order of the polis.
Each of her works is more than a visual composition; it is also an experiment in thought. Through pigment, line, and color, she seeks to reveal humanity’s quest for freedom, its social bonds, and its inner conflicts.
Eker’s artistic journey is driven by a desire to push the boundaries of creative expression with every new work, building new spaces where thought and emotion converge. For her, art is a living bridge between the legacies of the past and the possibilities of the future.
