STEFAN RAGIMOV
Photographer - Visual Artist
Barcelona based visual artist, Stefan Ragimov expressed a strong attachment for the fine arts very early on. Ragimov completed his undergraduate education in Budapest, Faculty of Visual Representation. He travels around the world in search of new and original subjects. Yet, his artistic inspiration is deeply rooted in the world around him, as he delves into diverse materials through travel, research, and observation.
His art predominantly explores themes of identity, cultural taboos, sexuality, and social/political unrest in Middle East, Balkans and Caucasus.
While his creations are deeply rooted in personal lived experiences, they transcend boundaries by presenting potent rebellious imagery within the framework of a contemporary patriarchal society.
Ragimov's work has travelled among plenty of group and solo art exhibitions, at Lana Contemporary in Rome, Bunker Gallery in Budapest, Prinz EisenHerz in Berlin, Not Human Art Week in Aachen, Art Nordic International Art Fair in Copenhagen and 212Photography Festival Solo Show in Istanbul.
