TAMARA KETSKHOVELI

Painter

The highly personal style of Georgian artist Tamara Ketskhoveli is characterized by simplified insights into the world around us, employing intense colors and unusual patterns. Her paintings, which depict everyday life, various objects, memories, and imaginative landscapes, draw viewers into the realm of the ordinary. In her works, she emphasizes her fascination with the mixture of plainness and complexity, communicating as if revealing the serene world of a woman encapsulating the emotions of her tumultuous personal experiences.

Ketskhoveli began drawing in her childhood, however, painting has become her primary focus since 2019. While she identifies as a self-taught painter, she briefly studied painting at the Tbilisi State University secondary art school. Her works are held in private collections both in Georgia and abroad. Her exhibition at the Tbilisi Vernissage Gallery in 2020 attracted a large audience closely following her artwork. Notably, her paintings were selected as illustrations for the article "Practical Challenges to Virtue Integrations in Higher Education" in the winter 2023 edition of the American magazine "Virtue and Vocations."
