SÁNDOR GERGELY

Painter - Visual Artist

Gergely Sándor is a Hungarian visual artist based in Amsterdam. His artistic journey began in Transylvania, shaped by a dual Hungarian–Romanian identity and early influences from his grandfather, a stone carver and village builder. He studied Fine Arts at the University of Art and Design in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, where he developed a strong foundation in composition and material exploration. Later, at the Amsterdam Fashion Academy, he expanded his understanding of aesthetics through fashion styling, deepening his sensitivity to rhythm, form, and visual communication.

Influenced by thinkers such as Dante, Carl Jung, Tom Campbell, and contemporary cosmology, Gergely creates abstract and figurative works exploring transformation, unseen structures, emotional landscapes, and the relationship between inner experience and the wider universe.

Working with acrylic, oil, charcoal, and mixed media, his paintings investigate movement, tension, fragility, and connection, inviting reflection on human transformation within an increasingly accelerated digital world.
