CROSSING THE BORDERS
25 january - 15 february, 2025
Crossing the Borders presents a poignant exploration of the human condition through the works of three distinguished Hungarian artists: Anikó Bodor, Ferenc Maurits, and Zephyr. Curated by Gabriella Uhl, this exhibition examines the enduring scars of conflict, war, and displacement, using art as a lens to confront humanity's darkest chapters. Each artist brings a unique perspective, transforming personal and collective memories into powerful visual narratives. Their works not only preserve the echoes of history but also challenge us to grapple with the emotional weight of trauma, fostering empathy and a deeper understanding of the human cost of violence.
Through this dialogue between past and present, the exhibition highlights art's transformative potential. Anikó Bodor’s intricate graphics convey the complexities of exile and resilience, while Ferenc Maurits blends fine art and literature to reflect on identity and cultural memory. Zephyr’s raw and visceral expressions critique the turmoil of contemporary life shaped by political unrest and digital dissonance. Together, these artists offering a space for reflection.
